- The files in this archive were not prepared by me, except for this one.
- The SHELL.DOC, which is in WordPerfect format, and SHELL.PRN, which was
- printed to disk from SHELL.DOC by me, describe how programmers may alter
- their programs to interact with WordPefect's SHELL.COM menuing system
- from the WordPerfect Library.
-
- The following is a comment from Richard P. Wilkes [72746,1712] regarding
- access to the Shell menu when using a shell type function from another
- application program:
-
- "Shell changes COMSPEC in the environment to point to SHELLDOS.COM instead of
- COMMAND.COM. A program that executes command.com directly will not return to
- shell on exit to dos. A program that properly goes to COMSPEC will. Of
- course, there is more to being shell-aware than that."
-
- I am not a programmer and cannot comment on technical programming issues.
- I am a user of the WordPerfect Library and would be happy to answer
- questions regarding it, from a user's perspective.
